Job

Summary:

The Assistant Maintenance Manager

(AMM) is a proactive leadership role supporting fulfillment center operation,

focusing on maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance for

equipment such as; conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras,

depalletizers, print and apply systems, material handling robots, and Siemens

devices and programs. The incumbent

supervises a high performing team that is capable of analyzing, troubleshooting,

and repairing broken equipment, as well as performing preventive and predictive

maintenance tasks. The AMM is

responsible for analyzing the workload and reevaluates resources throughout the

day as workflow conditions change to meet demands. With the maintenance team,

the AMM works to achieve or exceed facility performance goals despite

fluctuating demands. The AMM resolves issues, addresses safety concerns, and is

responsible for communicating business objectives and daily workload plans. The

Assistant Maintenance Manager works with the Maintenance Manager and

contractors to coordinate new construction and facilities repair work, all

while ensuring that it is completed in compliance with federal and local

regulations.

II.

Essential

Functions and Responsibilities:

Achieve or exceed key

performance indicators; in safety, performance, and budget targets.

·

Understand, maintain and

troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers,

industrial networks and electrical distribution systems.

·

Act as a first level

escalation support for the maintenance team to troubleshoot and repair all

hardware or controls systems within the Fulfillment Center.

·

Facilitate failure analysis

and incident review processes to implement process improvements or retraining

to avoid future incidents.

·

Use diagnostic software to

monitor performance of systems; collect and analyze data to identify trends and

recommend improvements.

·

Apply subject matter

expertise in material handling and electronic systems to maximize system

utilization.

· Rely

on experience and judgment to assign job plans and accomplish departmental

goals.

·

Check all work for results

and compliance with technical specifications, housekeeping and safety

regulations.

·

Work with customers and

suppliers to define equipment specifications, resolve fabrication and quality

issues.

· Teach

team members; prepare mechanics for promotional opportunities.

team to use DFC systems.

and enter maintenance documentation in 7I system.

Required Qualifications :

· Excellent

communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving, critical thinking,

· Ability

to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Make broad based

decisions and understand how these decisions may impact operations and the

maintenance department. Use detailed analysis and follow-up when making decisions.

· Industrial

electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110

VAC, and DC systems.

· HMI

interfaces and program knowledge.

· Advanced

troubleshooting skills with PCs, servers and industrial controls networking. Analytical

and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems; creative

problem-solving.

· Read

and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and various technical drawings.

· Experience

with repairing/maintaining the following types of systems or equipment:

o

Conveyors

o

Electro-pneumatic PLC controlled

systems with photo eye detectors

o

Hydraulic and pneumatic systems

o

Forklifts, reach trucks, floor

sweepers, yard trucks

o

Automotive systems

o

HVAC

o

Basic Plumbing

o

Fabrication and Welding

· Experience

managing resources, time, and budgets.

· Demonstrated

· Ability

leadership.

· Highly

school diploma or GED equivalent with at least 4 years demonstrated increasing

responsibilities in a maintenance organization.

Preferred Qualifications :

· Familiarity

with lift equipment

· Post-high

school education preferred; Technical school degree a plus

· Situational

with Microsoft Office Suite
