Applicants and employees in positions which perform job duties that may require contact with offenders in the custody or supervision of the Department of Corrections or with youth in the care, custody, or supervision of the Department of Juvenile Justice must meet qualifications pursuant to the federal Prison Rape Elimination Act, 28 C.F.R.115.17 and 115.317.Description of Job Duties:This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.

Priority consideration will be given to veteran applicants.

Provides administrative support services to veteran customers. Informs veterans of their rights, responsibilities and program services under provisions of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Wagner-Peyser Act, Unemployment Insurance and other workforce programs, laws and regulations; and performs other duties as assigned.

Provides intensive case management services to veterans. Assesses veteran’s needs, develops an individual employment plan, and identifies/reduces barriers through setting obtainable goals. Conducts follow up to ensure all tasks are being completed timely. Modifies employment plan as needed. Once veteran is determined job ready refers to Local Veteran Employment Representative for job development.

Develops outreach plan that locates and identifies disabled veterans with special employment needs through contacts and interactions with homeless shelters, community and government agencies. Conducts outreach to locate disabled veterans, economically or educationally disadvantaged veterans and veterans with other barriers.

Assists veterans in preparing resumes and obtaining labor market information.

Prepares quarterly reports on services to veterans. Completes and submits assessments within 30 days of request.

Facilitates workshops or represent veterans program at events.

Performs other duties as assigned.
