Reports To:Manager of Member Services

Position Summary:Serves as the Cooperative member’s primary contact for service connections and disconnections, processing payments, and answering general inquiries.

Essential Duties:

  • Follows all safety rules and procedures

  • Answers incoming calls from members to ensure prompt member service.

  • Issues and receives requests for connections, disconnections, and changes to members electric service

  • Adjusts bills, calculates final bills for cut-offs, and processes payments from members

  • Performs a variety of clerical duties as assigned.

  • Assists consumers with high bill complaints and other problems related to member accounts.

  • Works as a team player to meet the overall goals of the department and the Cooperative.

  • Complies with Cooperative’s policies prohibiting harassment and discrimination. Complies with Cooperative’s Drug Free Workplace policy, and complies with all policies, safety rules and procedures; and immediately reports possible violations to department VP and VP of HR and Benefits

  • Attends safety meetings as required. Participates in other training to stay technically abreast and gain exposure to best practices

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Equipment Requirements(must be able to effectively use):

Personal computer, printer, copy machine, facsimile machine, telephone, 10-key calculator, cooperative vehicle

Software Requirements(must be able to effectively use):

UPN &Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel.

Education Degrees, Certificates, Licenses, and/or Training:


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Valid driver’s license


  • One year experience

  • Valid CPR/First-Aid/AED Certificate

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to effectively and courteously communicate in person and by telephone

  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate in writing

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and effectively perform in stressful situations

  • Ability to effectively and professionally perform multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply written documents

  • Ability to perform functions used in basic algebra

  • Ability to exercise independent judgement within parameters of the Cooperative’s policies/procedures

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of highly sensitive information, both internally and externally

Physical Requirements(must be able to):

Use both hands and fingers; grip; twist; reach above the head; bend, stoop and twist ; and sit and stand for long periods of time; lift, carry, push and pull weights up to 25 lbs.

Working Conditions(must be able to):

  • Work eight hours per day, five days a week

  • Work after hours, as needed, including weekends, nights and holidays

  • Primarily work inside with controlled temperatures
