Supports Manufacturing Engineering department on projects as directed by Controls Engineering Manager. Provides technical assistance and resolution when controls or engineering problems are encountered.
Manages, designs, and implements both capital and improvements projects from beginning to end.
Provides technical support to existing equipment as well as new equipment purchases and installs.
Identifies opportunities for improvements and implements solutions while standardizing and documenting the solutions.
Optimize PCL Logic to lead to increase production and/or reliability.
Develops upgrade plans for obsolescent equipment controls.
Improves existing control equipment to become more reliable and production/maintenance friendly.
Supports program modifications for a centralized data collection system.
Benchmarks and implements new technology in partnership with key stakeholders.
Selects the controls equipment in order to complete system design and support system development.
Communicates frequently with internal and external stakeholders regarding various issues.
Multi-tasks in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Perform other activities as need or as directed.
2 Years work related experience
In depth knowledge of electrical control system design
Proficient at programming using Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View software
Modify/design electrical schematics, preferably in AutoCAD Electrical
Knowledge of NEC and OSHA codes with GuardLogix and Safety Circuits experience
Strong problem-solving ability and quick learner
Motivated team player with good project management skills
Controls Engineering Technologists design and implement control systems on capital projects, modify existing control systems for continuous improvement projects, and support manufacturing. Projects are assigned by the Controls Engineering Manager and are both group-based as well as individual. This position requires individuals to lead by example, design and modify electric schematics, develop PLC and HMI code, install new electrical components, and troubleshoot existing equipment.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Related Field
Associate Degree in Engineering or Related Field
